Concepts of a Book — Terms and Conditions

The site-specific terms that govern your use of conceptsofabook.com.

Last updated: April 25, 2026

1. Scope

These site-specific Terms apply to your use of conceptsofabook.com and incorporate the Archieboy Master Terms by reference. By using Concepts of a Book, you agree to both these site-specific Terms and the Master Terms. Where a conflict exists, these site-specific Terms control for Concepts of a Book.

2. Source materials — rights, consent, and prohibitions

Concepts of a Book turns your existing writing — sermons, journals, interview transcripts, notes, lectures, blog posts, articles — into a structured book manuscript. By uploading any source file, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the source material, or you have all rights and permissions necessary to submit it for AI-assisted compilation into a book and to publish the resulting work.
  • If a source file contains the words of any other person — for example, an interview, a recorded conversation, a co-authored sermon, or quoted material from a third party — you have the necessary releases or licenses from that person to use their words in a published book.
  • If a source file contains personal, confidential, or sensitive information about identifiable third parties (counselees, congregants, family members, clients, patients), you have obtained appropriate consents and removed or anonymized any information you do not have the right to publish.
  • The source material is not subject to any non-disclosure agreement, work-for-hire arrangement, or other restriction that would prevent you from publishing the resulting book.

You may not upload as source material:

  • Copyrighted writing belonging to a third party that you have not licensed for derivative use (other authors’ books, sermons or talks given by other speakers without their consent, etc.).
  • Content that sexualizes or places at risk any minor.
  • Content intended for impersonation, fraud, defamation, or harassment.
  • Content that violates the policies of the underlying AI provider (currently Anthropic Claude).

You are solely responsible for any claim arising from source material you upload, and you agree to indemnify Archieboy for any such claim per Master Terms § 15.

3. Confidentiality of your source materials

We understand that source materials — especially sermons, journals, and personal notes — are often deeply personal. Our commitments:

  • We will not sell, rent, license, or share your source files or generated manuscripts with any party other than the AI provider needed to perform the build you requested.
  • We will not use your source materials or generated manuscripts to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning model operated by Archieboy or any third party. Our AI provider is configured to operate under its no-training-by-default API terms.
  • Source files are stored in our private encrypted-at-rest storage (Amazon S3, prefix private/conceptsofabook/).
  • Internal access is limited to authorized Archieboy personnel for legitimate operational and support purposes (debugging a failed pipeline, responding to your support request, fraud or abuse investigation).

4. License you grant us

To operate the service, you grant Archieboy a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit to the AI provider, process, modify (as needed for extraction, formatting, or compilation), and generate derivative works (the outline and manuscript) from your source materials, solely for the purpose of delivering the requested book build to you. This license ends when you delete the project or when your account is closed, except for backups retained for a reasonable rolling window.

5. AI build — what we do and don’t do

Concepts of a Book uses AI (currently Anthropic Claude) to extract text from your source files, construct an outline, write transitional passages where requested, and assemble a book-length manuscript that aims to preserve your authorial voice.

What we do not do:

  • We do not check whether your manuscript infringes any third party’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property right.
  • We do not perform fact-checking, citation verification, or scripture-reference verification.
  • We do not provide legal review, libel review, defamation screening, or theological review.
  • We do not guarantee that voice preservation will perfectly match your style, that any specific passage will appear unchanged, or that any specific quality outcome will be achieved.

AI output is best-effort and may contain errors, omissions, or alterations of meaning. You are solely responsible for reviewing the generated outline and manuscript before publishing, for the legal, factual, and theological content of any published work, and for compliance with the disclosure rules of any platform where you publish.

6. Pricing, slots, and refunds

  • Concepts of a Book operates on one-time slot-package pricing: Single ($49 / 1 slot), Publisher 10-Pack ($349 / 10 slots), Publisher 25-Pack ($649 / 25 slots). There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no auto-renewal.
  • One slot is consumed when you create a new project. Unlimited revisions on a project (rebuilds and revision instructions) do not consume additional slots.
  • Slots do not expire under normal policy. Slots are non-transferable between accounts and may be forfeited if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms.
  • Refunds:
    • Unused slots may be refundable within 30 days of purchase by contacting support; refunds are at our discretion and require manual processing.
    • Slots that have been consumed by creating a project are non-refundable, because the AI compute cost has been incurred or committed.
    • If a build fails on our side due to a platform-level technical malfunction (not a problem with your source files), we will rebuild the project at no additional slot cost.

7. Output ownership and use

The generated manuscript and any outputs (DOCX, plain-text, revision history) are yours to use, revise, and publish on any platform of your choosing, subject to your representations of rights in § 2. Note that retailers (Amazon KDP and others) may require disclosure of AI-assisted content during upload; truthful disclosure of AI involvement is your responsibility.

8. Project deletion

Project deletion (which removes source files from S3 and chapter drafts from our database) is currently performed by an administrator on request. To delete a project, contact support. If you close your account, all projects, source files, and manuscripts are deleted within 30 days per the Master Terms.

9. Everything else

All other terms — eligibility, payment processing, account termination, intellectual property in our software and brand, DMCA copyright complaints, disclaimers of warranty, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and changes to these Terms — are governed by the Archieboy Master Terms.
